Pile yellow kimono style gown Valentino Haute Couture Collection in Beijing

THE VALENTINO EMOTIONAL FASHION SHOW HAUTE COUTURE “DAYDREAM” IS PART OF THE GREAT EVENT THAT HAPPENED in  BEIJING in November 2019.

A Project strongly wanted by the creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli to tell the High Fashion to a different public, that of the young, digital and conscious.

Valentino’s Creative Director had the desire to bring High Fashion directly to China, where today consumers love the most contemporary story. This is how Haute Couture reaches the most digital generations and is more aware that before their eyes we find the magnificence of Italian savoir-faire, the uniqueness of an Haute Couture garment. Because those who love and appreciate streetwear and daywear might not know the Couture.

As Tiffany Ap noted in her review for WWD,  "Piccioli hoped people would think of it as a daydream, the title of this particular collection, in which two ancient capitals – Renaissance-era Rome and imperialistic Beijing – engage in a dialogue."

Daydream as a motto of inclusion, the abolition of every barrier between reality and desire and which is declined with a capsule of special products created for the event.

For sure, in my personal opinion, the Valentino’s Creative director Peirpaolo Piccioli just missed China with Japan, because he created a lot of Haute Couture gowns for this collection based on Japanise kimono and Korean traditional gowns rather than on Chinese traditional clothes, but anyway, this really marvelous and unique collection deserves our attention.
